Pilot Project

Integrated Poultry & Rabbit Farming

Implemented by: Centre for Agroecological Promotion - CAEP

Location: Tombel

Objective: Enhancing food security and boosting income generation for CAEP members and local communities through integrated poultry and rabbit production with organic manure for crop farming.

Target Beneficiaries: CAEP members and surrounding farming communities in Tombel.

Activities: Construction of poultry/rabbit housing, acquisition of improved breeds, organic manure collection and application to crop fields, training on animal husbandry, and market linkage development.

Outcomes:

  • +10 kg/week organic manure for crop fertilization
  • Diversified protein source for local communities
  • Model for Azolla-Poultry-Fish integrated system
Pilot Project

Integrated Bee & Robusta Coffee Farming

Implemented by: WOLA Multipurpose Farmers CIG, Muaku-BANGEM

Location: Muaku-Bangem

Objective: Demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of integrating beekeeping with coffee farming for increased productivity, sustainability, and income generation.

Target Beneficiaries: Members of WOLA Multipurpose Farmers CIG and surrounding coffee farming communities.

Activities: Establishment of beehives within coffee plantations, training on bee management and coffee agroforestry, honey harvesting and processing, and market linkage for coffee and honey.

Outcomes:

  • 30 beehives colonized with improved pollination
  • 19 kg honey harvested from demonstration hives
  • Enhanced coffee yields through natural pollination
Pilot Project

Integrated Cocoa Agroforestry & Pig Farming

Implemented by: Unique Farmers Cooperative, Tombel

Location: Tombel

Objective: Demonstrating the viability and benefits of an integrated cocoa agroforestry and pig farming system as an agroecological approach that enhances ecological, economic, and social sustainability.

Target Beneficiaries: Members of Unique Farmers Cooperative and cocoa farming households in Tombel.

Activities: Establishment of cocoa agroforestry plots with shade trees, construction of pig housing, organic manure production from pig waste for cocoa fertilization, training on integrated farm management, and market access support.

Outcomes:

  • Pig population increased from 12 to 30
  • Organic manure replaces synthetic fertilizers
  • Diversified income from cocoa + livestock
Pilot Project

Sustainable Food & Vegetable Farming

Implemented by: SYNAPARTCAM Women Wing, Mbonjo-SOUZA

Location: Mbonjo-SOUZA

Objective: Increasing the productivity and sustainability of food and vegetable production through the integration of agroecological practices, supporting local communities and fostering resilient farming systems.

Target Beneficiaries: Women farmers of SYNAPARTCAM Women Wing and surrounding communities in Mbonjo-SOUZA.

Activities: Establishment of vegetable demonstration plots, training on organic soil management and composting, water-efficient irrigation, crop diversification, seed saving, and market linkage for women farmers.

Outcomes:

  • 200 kg food crops and 48 kg vegetables produced
  • 25 women trained in agroecological vegetable farming
  • Climate-resilient farming systems established
